Welcome, Leonard! Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. Let's jump right in – what are the three things you couldn’t live without?
"Thanks for having me! The three things I absolutely couldn't live without are my best friends and colleagues, my lovely dog Fiete, and my favorite soccer club Hamburger SV."
Thanks for sharing. Let’s talk about your journey at Lucanet. When did you join and what’s your role here?
"I started my career journey with Lucanet as a working student in sales consulting from December 2019 to September 2021. After taking a short break, I came back in October 2022 as a Product Discovery Specialist on the Product Discovery team. In this role, I’m actively engaging with our customers and partners to make sure their feedback and needs are integrated into our product department. My leads gave me the freedom and flexibility to take on bigger responsibilities and handle projects on my own pretty quickly. This helped me move into my current senior role last year."
How would you explain your role and what does a typical day look like for you?
"In my role, I focus on understanding and improving our customer experience. This involves conducting interviews and surveys to identify any pain points our customers may have with our solutions. Additionally, I carry out competitor analyses and market screenings to understand industry trends, ensuring we address any functionality gaps between our offerings and the needs of finance teams."
That sounds like an exciting role! Could you tell us a bit about how you got there and what you’re most excited about working at Lucanet?
"My journey started with studying industrial engineering in Berlin, but I actually found myself drawn more to the business side of things. I was working as a student in the finance department of a manufacturing company when I came across Lucanet's solutions. As a customer, I was immediately impressed by how user-friendly they were. I ended up joining Lucanet as an employee a year later and even wrote my bachelor’s thesis here. Before finishing my master's degree, I took a detour back into finance with another company. But after I graduated, I wanted to come back to Lucanet because I always thought it was a great place to work, and I still do!"
And we’re happy to have you back! So, it was our product that first got you interested in Lucanet? How would you say the company has helped you grow since then?
"A bit unusual for some maybe, but yes, it was actually the product itself that first caught my attention. It didn’t take long for me to see that this positive impression wasn't just about the product. It was also about how Lucanet operates as a team and the supportive work culture. They've given me the freedom and flexibility to work my way, providing guidance when I need it to keep developing professionally."
And what's your favorite part about working here?
"I really appreciate the flexibility that our Lucaflex model gives me to choose where, when and how I work. I also enjoy being part of such a diverse team. This brings a lot of dynamic and flexibility to the organization, which helps us stay on top of innovation trends and grow both personally and as a company."
We’d love to know: How do you keep your motivation levels high, even when work gets challenging?
"Working on products can sometimes be really frustrating, kind of like assembling furniture after moving into a new apartment. What keeps me motivated, both personally and professionally, is being able to take a step back, reflect on what I’ve achieved so far and picture what I want to accomplish next. For me, it’s all about tackling challenges one step at a time and making sure I’m focusing on the most important things. I usually work through these processes with my team, which makes it even more effective."
Can you share a moment when you felt proud to be part of the Lucanet team?
"Experiencing our Lucanet.World event for the first time this year was an exceptional moment for me. It was really rewarding to see how our customers and partners reacted to our rebranding, as well as our new ESG software and our solution platform. And there is more to come in the future, which is really exciting!"
That was a really special moment indeed! So, which of our core values do you connect with the most? How do you put it into practice?
"We challenge ourselves to do better every day – this is the value that really speaks to me. I'm committed to helping the company develop a product that stands out in the office of the CFO. I also want to challenge our competitors and what we currently offer, and I want to push myself and my colleagues to keep moving Lucanet forward."
