We had the opportunity to chat with Ella, one of our Technical Service Engineers. Ella's journey, from her global experiences to her role at Lucanet, is both inspiring and insightful.
It offers a glimpse into the inclusive, supportive, and dynamic work environment we truly cherish at Lucanet. Let’s get to know her better!
Thank you, Ella, for taking the time to chat with us today! To kick things off, we'd love to get to know you a bit better. What are the three things you absolutely can't do without?
"Of course, happy to! I couldn't do without my family and friends as they are my support system and truly enrich my life. The experiences I've had are also invaluable because they have shaped who I am today. And, of course, my wardrobe is essential; who doesn’t love a good outfit."
What an insightful answer. And when did you join Lucanet and what is it you do here?
"One year ago, already, in October 2023, I joined Lucanet as a Technical Service Engineer for the Smart Notes team."
How would you describe your role to someone who isn't at all familiar with it?
"As a Technical Service Engineer, I bridge the gap between our technology and our customers. My role involves implementing Cloud, on-premises, and ESG Smart Notes (Disclosure Management) solutions. I ensure seamless deployment, maintenance, and updates of our software across various platforms. This includes troubleshooting issues and implementing necessary upgrades. Additionally, I manage the provisioning of essential licenses, such as Smart Notes licenses, XBRL licenses, and SSL certificates to ensure compliance and functionality. I also work closely with our Salesforce team for internal coordination."
Can you tell us a bit more about your professional journey and what excites you most about your current role?
"With over ten years of experience in IT services, I've had the opportunity to work in countries like Israel, Greece, and Germany. I've also had the chance to collaborate with big names like Dell, Microsoft, and Oracle. On top of that, I have over 20 years of experience in level 1 and level 2 customer service. It’s great to use this experience in my current role, I must say that the best part of my current role at Lucanet is definitely my fantastic colleagues and teammates. They make starting the day easy and every workday enjoyable!"
And when you face challenges at work, how do you stay motivated?
"I see challenges as opportunities for growth and learning and I welcome them with open arms. Throughout my career, I've faced numerous obstacles and always aimed to make the best out of them. By refining and adapting processes that aren't logical or that are inefficient, I want to provide the best possible service to our customers. It's all about continuously improving and ensuring that our customers receive top-notch support and solutions."
That’s a great way to approach obstacles! What initially attracted you to join the Lucanet Group?
"What initially attracted me was the job itself; the ad was fully focused on the role and responsibilities, providing me with a lot of helpful insights. During the interview process, I was especially struck by the emphasis on equality, inclusion, and work-life balance. I remember thinking “this must be a great place to work”."
And what is your favorite part about working here and what would you love to still see in five years?
"My colleagues and teammates! They can make even the grayest day brighter. And I’d love to see our transparent internal communication staying the same because it's a game-changer to be fully informed and aware of what's happening across the company."
What makes Lucanet unique from your perspective?
"To me, Lucanet really stands out for its inclusion, openness, and the trust between management and employees. I feel proud whenever management listens to my ideas and even more so when they get implemented."
And which of our core values resonates the most with you?
"Definitely “We value our people and the communities we serve”. I see and experience this in my everyday interactions and truly believe my team does everything they can to help both our customers and colleagues."
One last question, do you have any tips for talents who would like to join Lucanet?
"Just be yourself. Many workplaces make you feel like you should hide certain aspects of yourself or put on a show. I was accepted and feel valued at Lucanet for being honest and vocal. I've never felt that I had to be anything other than myself here."
Thank you once again for sharing your story with us, Ella!
